Judging by the skin color and the jewelry, that gun has way more problems than just a stripped screw.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:01:27
That sucks. How many would you want to get?

Perfectly reliable for bullseye/comp shooting totally drenched in light grease, yeah.
You (or whoever said it) are right though that even a "normally" fit 1911 will still be more than accurate than the shooter, you can be competitive at anything with a slightly above average accurate 1911.There really isn't a need for the gun to be retardedly tight in current year, so yeah its boomer bait.
It's actually not that hard, as a machine shop, to make a gun that is excessively tight, it's not like something to brag about. Making a gun that is both reliable and accurate is. I think Staccato is way underrated for how consistent they are at making exceptionally accurate pistols that also manage to pass the 11 testing criteria

Not GTG, bro.

Two second per shot rule on the range (I break it every time)
>revolver grip
LMAO

>Not GTG, bro.
Thanks pastebin I’ll keep that in mind. I’m sure you’ve seen a follower get a little hung up before.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:13:29
You mean a teacup grip? That's not it btw
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:25:06
I too disregard the rule against rapid fire.
>>21184
>seen a follower get a little hung
It's not that, I've just never seen a polymer handgun-follower that thin before T BH.
>>21185
Whichever grip it might be, that thumb twitching doesn't look optimal.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:26:33
He does the HRT thumb on all the webums but his groups are still better than yours.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:27:52
1911 was my first ever handgun, still shoot it, carry it, love it. I'm of the opinion that more recoil = more fun, and DA/SA is overrated.
That said you wouldn't regret the 92fs either
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:30:06
>polymer
Oh it’s metal.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:30:16
Man what the actual fuck is that grip? It's like a 13 year old played re5 on release and drew it from memory 10 years later
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:32:25
It just werks
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:34:21
They may have damaged the threads trying to get it out, considering the monkey marks around it
My gunsmith charges 50 dollars per screw to extract and he’s really good at it.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:35:37
It looks bad. Your dominate hand thumb is presenting your support hand from getting onto the gun.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:37:51
That's called "slowfire". It's a pretty useful way to build skill as a novice (like you are) Notice how he's shooting a group with a discernable center and you're throwing shots all over your fucking target? The word "split" shouldn't even be in your vocabulary until you can shoot groups. But you'll never understand that, because you're too arrogant to know how fucking stupid you are.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:38:17
If you ever shoot at a pace somewhat nearing the resemblance of speed you will very quickly find out how fucked that grip is. I would immediately stop training in that bad habit if I were you but wallahi bro
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:42:17
That's on purpose to prevent my wedding band from digging into my right ring finger.
>>21195
I've mag dumped at speed (allowed if you have an instructor with you). I'm happy with all alphas. Can't ask for a timeout to remove my ring when I need to actually use my gun.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:44:15
>Speed
15 in 10? lmfao
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:48:31
Have you tried not being married instead
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:48:35
>That's called "slowfire"
It's called I don't want to be banned from this range because the next closest range is about an hour from me. My groups are tighter if I shoot at a cadence, which is ~1 shot per second
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:49:36
>15 in 10?
God I wish we can have 15 round mags

If you get a 1911 get a classic at least, like a Colt Series 70. I had a Betetta 92fs and it’s cool but don’t expect to carry it, not too comfortable IMO it dug into my side crouch something fierce, highly recommend a railed Beretta like a M9A1 which I’m actively looking for a good deal on. Like other anon said, 1911s are actually super overrated also I’m a 9mm fan myself.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:53:34
I've never met anyone so invested in something that is so fucking terrible at it, my god. You truly make this thread miserable.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:54:09
You do realize that I shot the group on the right in less than a second for all 7 rounds from concealment (0.96 draw, 1.87 total)
>>21202
1911s are not overrated

1911s are outdated, not quite obsolete they still stack up to modern day pistols but in terms of practicality there’s way better options. They make good comp guns but as a duty/ carry pistol? They’re far away from being as good as people say they are.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 22:59:31
It’s some wonky looking hybrid spring deal with a replacement follower. All of the reviews are good but I’m still going to put like 300 rounds through them tomorrow.

Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 23:07:24
As a carry pistol for me the manual and grip safety makes it very easy to carry and holster.
As a duty pistol they’re being looked into more and more as they make such good comp guns they allow shooters to faster and more accurate hits. The trigger is much more forgiving.
>inb4 manual safety
Yeah they’re guns for people who can remember to take off manual safeties, people well above the minimum
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 23:11:55
My shooting is mediocre but not the worst.

Stop being a drama queen.

You do realise the Bill Drill is meant for OWB drawing. I'll be focusing on the Rousseau Drill in any case.

Hello /hg/, /arg/ poster here. Whats the monthly challenge yall do? I see you guys do a thread competition for accuracy at a set distance and use the same target sheet. I'd love join in on that if someone can provide the print.
Also I just bought a TISA 1911A1, any 1911isms I should know or just general 1911 knowledge that important? I've been a Glock shooter up till now.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 23:35:45
We did two monthly challenges, I’m too lazy to do the collage and no one but Burt and maybe one other anon attempted July.
For accuracy challenges, get B8C targets (20 cents each) and shoot slowfire at 7 yards. The reigning champion is laser beam anon who puts all 5 into the same hole at 7 yards with his Gen 5 Glock with ACRO. Shooting that same target at 25 is also a regular benchmark.
>1911isms
Extractor tension: easy to tune the existing but you might want to get a quality extractor from a U.S. manufacturer (EGW, Wilson, etc)
Magazines; more important these days for JHPs but if one brand of magazine is giving you an issue, try a different one. MecGar, Wilson, CM power mag, Tripp research, etc all use different follower and tube designs. Your gun might be particular for one over the others.
1911s don’t just jam, there is reasons they jam that can be deduced, mark your magazines so you can tell them apart.
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 23:39:16
Why?
Anonymous · reply · 2026-07-11 23:42:29
Try shooting one.
